Denise V. H. Villalva (ella, elle, she, they) has a background in biological science fueled by my playful, synesthetic curiosity and love for intersectionality. She has put together an avatar that celebrates the incredible complexities of our world that explores how ecopsychology and biocultural ideas intertwine, showing how humans and other species evolve side by side—kind of like the mycelial networks that connect changemakers everywhere. My work blends multimedia art—animation, installations, and more—to spark hope and inspire us to imagine a brighter, more soulful future. By recycling materials and ideas, and deconstructing traditional archetypes and color symbiosis, my creativity stems from navigating this late stage of capitalism. I hope to inspire myself and fellow comrades to co-create a world we all aspire to live in!
